Actor Vijayakanth has sadly passed away at 71 due to COVID-19 complications. Initially hospitalized for a regular check-up, he tested positive for the virus and required ventilator support for breathing difficulties caused by pneumonia.Despite medical care, he passed away on December 28.

The most-awaited Prabhas starrer ‘Salaar’ is rocking at the box office despite mixed reviews from the audience. According to the latest updates, the creators have decided to reduce ticket prices in major theaters nationwide.

Another sad news is that popular action director Jolly Bastian breathed his last on Tuesday, December 26, due to a heart attack. Jolly Bastian has worked in several Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Punjabi movies as an action director. Some of his popular works in Malayalam include ‘Bangalore Days’, ‘Operation Java’, ‘Angamaly Diaries’, and many more.

Coming to the Kannada film industry, Telugu star Chiranjeevi is likely to be making his comeback to Kannada cinema after a gap of 22 years. Reportedly, Chiranjeevi will be playing an extended cameo role in actor Darshan’s new film with Prem.
