Subharathri is a story based on real-life drama

'Shubharathri', according to its promo posters, is based on the true-life story of a wealthy elderly man who is about to set out on Haj and how the events of a night changes his life. Written and directed by Vyasan K P, the film is based on the relationship between Mohammad, played by Siddique, and Krishnan, portrayed by Dileep.
Speaking with a popular radio channel, Dileep said, “Vyasan was surprised when I suggested that I will do it.He felt people would expect a mass entertainer from me. But it is a feel-good cinema about beautiful relationships.”
The film also features Anu Sithara, Santhikrishna, Indrans, Asha Sarath and Vijay Babu.
