Short films and their possibilities have charmed many mainstream Mollywood artistes in the recent past and the latest actor to be featured in one such movie is
Suresh Gopi. The soon-to-be released short film titled Valippikkalle, directed by Sanju Ambadi, gives a message about the ill effects of smoking in public spaces. The actor appears as himself in the film and it’s probably the first short film he is associating with.
Director Sanju says, “We are all too familiar with the statement, ‘Smoking is injurious to health’, and posters on smoking being prohibited in public spaces. However, everybody doesn’t understand the gravity of the message and what happens when children see someone smoking in an open space. Valippikkalle tries to educate people about these aspects. I happened to be part of Suresh Gopi’s latest film The Dolphins and while on its set, I got a chance to discuss the project with him. He is someone who associates with many initiatives for social causes, and I believe his involvement will help to convey the message to more people.”
The short film is to be released in Hindi and Malayalam and also has Mollywood actors like Sunil Sukhada and Aneesh Kaimal in important roles.
