It seems that
Suresh Gopi is all geared up for his 250th film,Ottakombam, which is directed by Mathews Thomas Plammoottil. The movie had courted controversy as Jinu Abraham, the scriptwriter of Prithviraj’s Kaduva, had alleged that it was plagiarised from his script.
The High Court had directed that the movie shouldn’t bear any similarities with Kaduva and the makers now are on track with their project.
Suresh Gopi was recently spotted in the get-up, with a thick grey beard to go with a black moustache.
Suresh Gopi plays the ‘mass’ character in the movie, which is scripted by Shibin Francis, who had penned the screenplay of CIA and Pavada. “Suresh Gopi plays a family man who has his issues. He might look a bit aged based on the look we have revealed but he isn’t too old. A lot of people are expecting him in a ‘mass’ action avatar and while that section will be pleased, the film also has a lot of importance to family sentiments and it would appeal to such an audience too,” said the film’s director Mathews to us earlier.
With the film also being the superstar’s 250th, has it put any pressure on the makers? “I narrated the story to Suresh Gopi before Varane Avashyamund. He liked it and by the time everything fell into place, it coincidentally became his 250th film. In a way, it’s good because people liked his comeback in a family movie and that’s why the interest to see him in an action film has peaked now,” said the source.
The team was also in discussion with a Bollywood actress to play the female lead.
