Unni Mukundan is basking in the success of the recently released action flick ‘Marco’ which has generated him a new fan base among the Hindi audiences. Recently Unni Mukundan shared his thoughts on why Malayalam movies do not turn out to be theatrical successes in the Hindi market.
Talking to Anmol Janmwal, the ‘Marco’ actor said that the budget is the main issue. He explained, “Budget is the primary issue. Then, you need to also have successful examples to support it. When you want a movie to reach a commercial level, it’s typically action because action is easier to take to a wider audience.”

Unni Mukundan further said that when one decides to shoot a high-end action flick they need a star who is completely willing to take up the project. Then the movie maker needs a good producer who is as thrilled as the actor to invest money in the movie and carry it forward.
“To create a successful film that appeals to a wider audience, it's essential for the star to be supported and the movie presented in a way that transcends regional boundaries. The script should have the potential to entertain a larger audience, and this requires a producer who is equally enthusiastic about taking the film forward. Ultimately, it's the collective effort of many factors that contributes to its success," the ‘Malikappuram’ actor added.
Meanwhile, ‘Marco’ has turned out to be the first A-rated Malayalam film to cross Rs 100 crores at the box office. The movie is directed by Haneef Adeni and Unni Mukundan’s stunning performance along with good action sequences got praise from the audiences.
