Created by a team of Gen Z, ‘Watusi Zombie’ is a comedy film which is set in Kochi just before the Pandemic time. The story revolves around a boy genius named Gabriel who finds himself caught up in an ugly rumor while dealing with small people who have some big city ideas.
With a surreal style and also kind of inspired by David Lynch’s classic ‘Eraserhead’, the poster for ‘Watusi Zombie’ has also caught the attention of movie buffs. According to On Manorama, Cyril initially planned ‘Watusi Zombie’ as a short film, but when the concept evolved, he and his team decided to take it up as a feature film.
Meanwhile, ‘Watusi Zombie’ will be finally screened at Ajanta Theatre on December 18. The movie is hailed for its quirky narrative and engaging screenplay with good performances.
On the other hand, IFFK opened with Walter Salles’ ‘I Am Still Here’ and on the second day IFFK honored the legendary writers of Malayalam cinema. On Tuesday, P Bhaskaran and Ramu Kariat’s ‘Neelakuyil’ will be screened at 11:30 am in Nila theatre. The prestigious festival will screen over 177 films from 68 countries across 15 theatres in Thiruvananthapuram.
