‘Wonder Women’ Padmapriya says Anjali Menon trusts her actors so much that it’s ‘as frightening as it is empowering’

Anjali Menon’s directorial ‘Wonder Women’, featuring Nadiya Moidu, Nithya Menen, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Padmapriya, Sayanora Phillip, Archana Padmini, and Amruta Subhash in the lead roles, was released on November 18. The film which revolves around a few pregnant women meeting at a prenatal care centre, has managed to garner a lot of attention ever since its announcement. The film is currently streaming on an OTT platform and actress Padmapriya Janakiraman, who has played one of the lead roles, has penned a heartwarming note.In her latest note, Padmapriya has spoken about her experience working with Anjali Menon.
“As the reviews for Wonder Women roll in this week, I find myself going back to the experience of making this film. Anjali is one of those rare directors with an ability to trust actors in a way we sometimes don’t trust ourselves. It is just as frightening as it is empowering. She will write her characters with deep empathy and bring them to life with pure, unadulterated skill. She will make you draw flowcharts for your character graphs and making all the actors share one little room. The set buzzes with warmth, creativity and sisterhood.
