Amar Upadhayay delaying release of debut Marathi film

Makeup artist Arun Gire who was going to co-produce his maiden Marathi venture with Amar Upadhyay is alleging that the film, planned for a September release, is yet to have its script finalized owing to the actor���������s disinterest.
Gire who has been trying in vain to schedule script hearing sessions with the actor, for the past five months, is disillusioned.���������At the end of last year, Amar showed interest in the project and after much deliberation we made an official announcement about it in March this year. Following which I engaged a scriptwriter and lyricist and have been trying to get in touch with Amar to finalize the casting and other aspects.���������
The duo had plans of releasing the film during the Ganesh festival in September. ���������The Ganesh festival is relevant to the film���������s story and hence the release was planned around that time. I also got a special Ganesh song penned for the film but as Amar has been repeatedly avoiding meeting me on the pretext of being busy; all these efforts have gone in vain. If he has lost interest in the project he should at least clarify things,��������� Gire said.
No formal contract was signed for the yet untitled film and understanding regarding the matter was on a personal level as the duo had been friends since a long time.
