With four releases waiting to happen, including 'Kolhapur Diaries' which is a remake of 'Angamaly Diaries', 2020 was supposed to be a creatively fulfilling year for actor
Bhushan Patil. However, the COVID-19 outbreak and months of lockdown delayed everything for him. Speaking to us, Bhushan shares his disappointment on the delay of his films, and also about the happiness of getting back to work.
Bhushan shares, “All my films were supposed to release this year and in all the films I play the protagonist.
I have been extremely patient with my career and have struggled for 13 years. I waited for good opportunities, worked on myself, groomed myself. And after all that hard work, when I was finally waiting to see the results, the lockdown happened. So, yes, it was a little disappointing for me.”
The actor is back to work as he dubs for another upcoming film, and he says that looking at the industry getting back on track, he is happy. “When I went to the studio for dubbing, I was happy to see that everyone was taking precautions. It felt wonderful and satisfying to return to what I love doing the most. I am happy to see the Marathi industry getting back on its feet. And with theatres are re-opening, it makes me really hopeful again that things will change for everyone in the creative business,” he says.
Tight-lipped about the project he is dubbing for, Bhushan shares that it’s an interesting film that was shot in Nagpur, Mumbai and Scotland and that the audience will get to see something different on screen. “Just before the lockdown, I was shooting in Scotland and when we heard the news, we rushed back to India. Since then I was home with no work,” he says, However, he did spend some quality time with his family. “In the lockdown, I saw my two-year-old son, Czar, learn to speak and walk. My wife Grace too helped me stay motivated. I told myself that all these things will pass,” he adds.
