Marathi Kalwant dhol Pathak plays at Siddhivinayak Mandir

Kalawant Dhol Tasha troop recently performed at Shri Siddhivinayak Mandir trust in Mumbai as a part of their visarjan procession. Prior to the performance, Marathi film actress Shruti Marathe had extended an invitation on her Instagram account to attend the procession.
It is customary to have Dhol-Tasha groups during Ganpati procession and many youngsters are seen participating.Keen to play the instrument, in 2014 actors from the Marathi industry had formed a troop which since had been playing for various Mandals in cities like Pune, Mumbai etc. Actors like Ajay Purkar, Aastad Kale, Saurabh Gokhale, Shruti Marathe, Shaswati Pimpalkar, Prajakta Hanamghar, Madhavi Soman, Jyoti Malshe, Tejaswini Pandit, Hrishikesh Joshi, Prasad Oak, Rujuta Deshmukh, Piyush Ranade, Mayuri Wagh, Anuja Sathe, Pari Telang, Ketan Kshirsagar, Shrikar Pitre, Prasad Javade, Radhika Deshpande, Madhura Deshpande, Nupur Daithankar, Tejashree Walvalkar, Ashwini Kulkarni and Bipin Surve, are a part of this troop.
