The film directed by Leena Yadav marks the international production debut of Ajay Devgn's production house and is based somewhat on the lines of the recent critically acclaimed Hindi films 'Angry Indian Goddesses'. While 'Angry India Goddesses' dealt with female sexuality, gender roles and sex in a somewhat urban setting, 'Parched' deals with the same but is based in rural Rajasthan. The film also explores violence against women, child marriage, discrimination and much more.
Apart from Radhika, whose last Marathi release was the 2014 hit 'Lai Bhaari', 'Parched' also features Surveen Chawla and Tannishtha Chatterjee, and was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.
