Actress-filmmaker Mrinal Kulkarni revealed to TOI recently that the casting of young Rama in her directorial venture ���Rama Madhav��� was important as she was the central character of the film till intermission. Based on the relationships during the Peshwe period ���Rama Madhav��� is a historical love story. While Alok Rajwade plays the role of Madhavrao Peshwe in the film the role of young Ramabai is played by Shruti Kalsekar and the youthful Ramabai is played by
Parna Pethe.
Speaking about the casting of young Rama in her film, Mrinal said, ���Casting of young Rama was very crucial and important as she is the central character with Madhav until the intermission. It was essential the she was a good actress and will deliver what was expected.���
