Sonu Nigam's Marathi song proves to be a hit

It's normal to hear a Sonu Nigam song in any of the latest Bollywood films now, but it is really nice to know that the versatile singer is making waves in Marathi music industry, with his latest song 'Matching Navra', gaining popularity by the day. An integral part of Kedar Shinde's forthcoming film Shreemant Damodarpant, this song has been composed by singer-turned-music director Vaishali Samant.
Ask her if it was easy to bring Sonu on board, and Vaishali says with a laugh: "This is my fifth film as a music director. But when I conceived the song, I was very clear that this song is meant for Sonuji and nobody else. And I told Kedar that either Sonu does it or we don't go ahead with it. So, when he finally came to the studio, heard my version for a while and then recorded the entire song with those perfect nuances in a jiffy! I'm thrilled that whatever I had conceived in the song, has come to life."
The song, which talks about getting an ideal groom, who would do everything for a girl, has already become very popular. "It is being played at all the Maharashtrian weddings these days. And what's more! It hasn't even been officially released as yet! Even before the release of the film, I have been told by Kedar to make club remix of the song. Obviously, I'm on top of the world!"
Director Kedar goes on to add: "Music is another highlight of Shreemant Damodarpant. And all the emotions that Sonu has portrayed through Matching Navra are making people hum along."
