'Subhedar': Character poster of Mrunmayee Deshpande as 'Kesar' unveiled!

Digpal Lanjekar's upcoming historical epic 'Subhedar' starring Chinmay Mandlekar, Mrinal Kulkarni and Ajay Purkar has already a lot of buzz on social media.

And to keep the excitement going, the makers of the film unveiled the character of Mrunmayee Deshpande as 'Kesar'.


In the film, Mrunmayee plays the role of a secret soldier who works for Swaraj as 'Kesar'. She played a major role as a spy to spread information about the enemy to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.




Mrunmayee's role as 'Kesar' in 'Sher Shivraj', 'Farzand' and Fatteshikast' has already impressed the audience with her stupendous performance. Now, the diva is all set to portray a similar role in Lanjekar's directorial 'Subhedar'.

Talking about the film, Subedar Tanaji Malusare was a military leader in the Maratha Empire of Chhatrapati Shivaji. He led an army that successfully captured the Kondhana fort from a Rajput fort keeper named Udaybhan Singh Rathore.

The film is all set to hit screens on August 25, 2023.
