Sidhu Moosewala's 27th birthday on June 11 brought a bouquet of surprise to the singer-actor. While he was basking in the glory of his latest hit Punjabi track with singer Amrit Maan, Bambiha Bole, he got another reason to cheer for. The star will once again share the screen space with Maan, this time in a Punjabi film, titled Gunah.
His close friend, filmmaker Tarnvir Singh Jagpal, who previously directed Daana Paani and Rabb Da Radio, surprised him by announcing the project as his birthday present.
It did make Sidhu emotional. Both have worked together in Sidhu’s unreleased project, Yes, I Am Student. Gunah is Sidhu’s second movie as an actor. Film's storyline is penned by Gill Raunta (Kaka Ji fame), who is Moosewala's cousin. The lyricist-cum-writer is happy because the story, on which he worked very hard for years, is finally shaping up on the big screen. The film also has Balkar Sivia in support.
When contacted Tarnvir, said, “We had a few things in mind. Right now, I am in the middle of dubbing Yes I AM Student, which is almost complete." He added that Gunah is going to be a serious film carrying a motivational message in the end. “The title is derived from its gripping plot,” revealed a source.
Sources added that Jagpal and Raunta did not reveal anything as they wanted to break the news on their yaar’s birthday. “It left Sidhu speechless. But then the duo was not joking. The film will start soon, probably after lockdown opens completely, and right now the release date has not been finalised,” sources said. Moosewala will be playing the lead role opposite Amrit Maan. And, only after wishing Sidhu and revealing the special gift, Jagpal took to his social media handle to make the news public.
