My film SRK has nothing to do with Shah Rukh Khan: Director Vikram Thori
Director Vikram Thori is keeping things secret
Many were intrigued when director Vikram Thori (Rocky Mental fame) rolled out his new Punjabi project, SRK. Also, it fuelled speculation if it shares any connection with Bollywood’s King Khan- Shah Rukh. What raised the curiosity levels a notch higher was the film's recently-unveiled poster, which had words like Badshah, Don, Baazigar (though all crossed out)— titles of Shah Rukh’s previous hit films— sprinkled prominently on its top.

However, a closer look at the title space cuts a bit of suspense about SRK. Smeep Raj Kang, as mentioned (embedded in a small font) is its full form.

When contacted Thori said, “It has no link with the Bollywood star. Rather, it’s a different story about someone who harbours a strong dream. With his passion and high aims, he surpasses everything. The reason to briefly obliterate three strong words is to showcase his unflinching zeal. I can’t reveal much but our protagonist is above all. By this we want to show he is way beyond all this. And he worked very hard to achieve success.”
While the buzz did rounds that Thori, who worked with the top seed of Punjabi cinema, including Parmish Verma, Ninja, etc, is bringing the charisma and life of badshah of Bollywood to regional domain, in reality it’s an action flick with a strong message in the end. The film will be released in the later months of 2021. Thori did not reveal the starry lineup and said, “That’s where the real suspense is.”
