Pankaj Berry is set to do his second Punjabi film, 'Bingad Di Vohti'

Film and TV actor, Pankaj Berry is set to do his second Punjabi film, 'Bingad Di Vohti', the poster of which he released in the lockdown. "I am playing an old, rich, kharoos character who marries a girl much younger than him who is only 16," says Pankaj who has also done films in other languages like, Rajasthani, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Sindhi and English. "I am an actor and as such I like exploring different avenues in terms of languages or scripts that allows me to showcase my talents and diversity," adds Pankaj who is currently playing the character of Tathacharya in the TV show, 'Tenali Rama.'
The film, a satire, is based in the last unpublished work by Dr CD Sidhu.

The original play by the name was directed by Veena Sidhu Taneja, playwright Dr Sidhu's daughter and highlights issues faced by Indian women in contemporary society. In particular, the play addressed the problems faced by the section of rural women who don't have access to proper education, and are not granted equality in marital and sexual and rights.
What attracted Berry to the script, in his words was, "One, it's being done by a friend, two, this is experimental genre for Punjabi cinema and I do think Punjabi industry is standing at the threshold of change."
