The Saahasa Simha is back and its his film No. 200. Vishnuvardhan was shuttling between Mysore and Melkote shooting for Aptharakshaka, the sequel to Apthamitra, the hit film by P Vasu. Theres quite a bit of travelling, but Im enjoying it, says the talented actor. I dont really know whether Ive hit the 200 mark, he says. Its a bit like a cricket decision thats been left to the third umpire.
Some say Ive already completed my 200th film, while others say Im one short; yet others others consider Apthamitra my 200th, he says.
For me, its enough if Aptharakshaka is a success thats celebrated by everyone whos been with me during the 37 years of my career. This film is for those whove been with me during good times and bad, he says. Some 80 per cent of the shooting for Aptharakshaka is complete. And the film is turning out very well, says Vishnuvardhan, adding, Those whove watched Apthamitra will certainly want to see the sequel and those whove not seen Apthamitra will go back and watch the first part when they watch Aptharakshaka.According to Vishnuvardhan, Apthamitra was an unexpected hit, and now there are a lot of expectations from Aptharakshaka. And thats a bit scary, he says. But Vasu is doing a great job and weve done everything to make the sequel as good as the original, he says. The actor himself is looking better with every film. Its all in the eyes of the beholder. he says. Of course, if anyone thinks Im looking the worse for wear Id like to hear about that, too, he laughs.
