A toast to friendship!
Kollywood is going places. Reason? Interesting themes and innovative ideas are being explored by a fresh breed of young directors, who are not scared to experiment.
Take for instance, Nadodigal, a film that focusses on the theme ���My friend���s friend is my friend as well.���
The audio of the movie, which has been directed by Samudrakani, was recently launched at a glittering function.
Participating in the audio launch function, director Cheran said, ���I want this movie to succeed for a number of reasons and I���m sure it will. But the most important reason why I want this movie to succeed is because Samudrakani has a good heart. The theme of this movie defines him well.���
Director Ameer, who spoke on the occasion, said that he carried two mobiles with him. ���One is an ordinary mobile which I use when I���m with friends and family. The other is a trendy one which I use in the presence of producers, lest they get the impression that I���m not wealthy,��� he said sarcastically to emphasise his opinion that a certain amount of hype was required to survive in the film industry.
Referring to directors Samudrakani and Sasikumar as his younger brothers, Ameer said, ���Let���s not mix professional and personal lives. No matter what the outcome of our films are, I���ll always be your elder brother.���
Speaking after him, director-cum-actor Sasikumar, who plays one of the lead roles in the film, said, ���I have just one mobile and I don���t change it. I behave in the same fashion with everybody.���
The film was attended by a host of dignitaries including directors K Balachander and Bala, and lyricists Yugabharathi and Na Muthukumar.
