Dhyan set to conquer Kollywood

After having won hearts in Bollywood and Sandalwood, Dhyan is now making his debut in Kollywood with hopes of becoming one more…
Dhyan set to conquer Kollywood
Hes skilled, smart and smoking hot. And whats more, hes now coming to Kollywood.
Meet Kannada star Dhyan, better known as Sameer Dattani in Bollywood, who is all set to make his debut in the Tamil film industry with Kutty, a film in which he will be sharing screen space with Dhanush and Shriya.
Says Dhyan, The movie is being directed by Jawahar, who made Yaaradi Nee Mohini.

The film is a young, fresh love story which focusses on a bunch of friends. It deals with a love triangle.
At a time when actors look to head north, Dhyan has had no problems zip-zapping across industries. The actor, who started his film career with the Kannada hit Nanna Preethiya Huduge, has constantly been acting in both Kannada and Hindi, with his first Bollywood movie being Uff Kya Jaadu Mohabbat Hai. He has delivered several hits in Kannada including Amruthadare, in which Amitabh Bachchan made a guest appearance, and been part of big projects like Corporate and Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie in Bollywood.
Ask him about the decision to enter Kollywood and he replies, The reason why I chose to take up a Tamil project now is because Ive reached a phase in my Kannada career where Im mature enough to branch out. More than that, I think its the right offer at the right time. The reason I say this is because Kutty is being made by a bunch of good people and more importantly, the story and the character sounded exciting to me. So, I took up the offer.

On the team that hes working with in Kutty, he smiles and says, Jawahar is a perfectionist and drives his actors to get what he wants. Thats a good thing but a little tiring. But its all in the game. Dhanush is very friendly, and chilled out. Shriya is from Bombay just like me. Weve known each other. So, it feels good to work with someone you know. Shriya and I are the pranksters on the sets and Dhanush is the silent, sweet guy.
Point out the fact to him that here in the south, people are passionate about their mother tongues and expect their stars to know the language and the star, whose mother tongue is Gujarati, replies, A lot of people tell me that the way my career is shaping up is unique. Generally, heroines being accepted in the south has happened but heroes being accepted in the south is new. Doing a character role or acting in a film or two is different from being accepted. Today, I can say that I have been accepted by the Kannada audience. Ive done almost eight films in Kannada. In fact, people refer to me as namma huduga Dhyan. I can speak fluently in Kannada. As for Tamil, Im just about picking it up. Going by my experience in Kannada, I believe it will take two films for me to get comfortable with a language. But because of my foray into Kannada, Tamil seems easier. Ive been watching a lot of Tamil films and I hope to converse fluently in Tamil.
Dhyan is a skilled roller skater who has won several competitions. Ask him about it and he smiles in return. I dont do competitive roller skating anymore. I do it only for pleasure now. I gave up eight years of my life to roller skating and yes, Im a one time silver medallist and two time bronze medalist at the national level. Ive won many competitions at the district and the state levels also. In fact, it has somewhere become a USP because Ive used this talent in a couple of my films like Monalisa and it has been highly appreciated. I roller skated for a fight and a song in Monalisa and people tell me that it became so popular that it became one of the repeat values in the film. One of my dreams is to do a film on roller skating, you see sports films are very inspirational.
And will it be in Tamil ? It could be a multi-lingual film, he signs off.
