From Kollywood to Tollywood
In the last few months, several Tollywood films have been dubbed into Tamil and released in the city.
And more are yet to hit screens. While Magadheera, starring Ram Charan Tej and Kajal Aggarwal, released as Maaveeran, two of Anushka’s films — Ragada and Khaleja — will soon be released as Vambu and Bathra.
And now, reversing the prevalent trend, two Kollywood films — late director Jeeva’s Dhaam Dhoom and his associate, Manikandan’s Chikku Bhukku — are all set to be dubbed into Telugu.

According to sources from the industry, Chikku Bhukku and Dhaam Dhoom will be titled Fair And Lovely and Rakshakudu respectively and released sometime next month.
Confirming the news, director Manikandan says, “The title and DI (digital intermediary) work on Chikku Bhukku is currently on. The audio will be launched next week and the film will release in the third week of July. I want to release the film as Chikku Bhukku only, but the producers are keen on titling it Fair And Lovely.”
He adds, “We wanted to release the Telugu version along with the Tamil one. But two Tamil films of Arya’s were releasing in Telugu at that time, and the industry also faced a strike during the month of February and March. Dhaam Dhoom will probably follow suit soon.”
