Kamal's an instant improviser!

If improvisation is the name of the game, then Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan is definitely a master of it. And the versatile artist proved it yet again at an award ceremony held recently in the city.
The actor, who was called on stage several times — sometimes to receive awards for his achievements in the field of music and on certain other occasions, to give away awards — always managed to politely excuse himself from singing a song everytime the MC requested him to do so. However, finally, he conceded to the request and within a minute of deciding to sing, made up his mind on what number to deliver.
Referring to Gauthami and his two daughters who had accompanied him to the award ceremony, he said, “I have come here with three sundaris (pretty women). And so, shall sing this song about a sundari.” So saying, he sang the hit number Sundari neeyum, sundari naanum from the film Michael Madana Kamarajan.
After delivering two lines, he replaced the original Ooho, (the humming part ) with ‘Podhum’ (meaning he had sung enough). Needless to say, the audience was impressed, not just with his singing abilities but also with his ability to change the lyrics of a song in a moment’s notice to what the situation demanded.
