Resmi has caught the acting bug!

Remember the song Chalanam, Chalanamfrom Urumi? Or the title track of Chappa Kurisu? Singer Resmi Sateesh who shot to fame through these numbers is all set to debut as an actor in Ashiq Abu's 22 Female Kottayam.
The final year student of audiography at Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute, Kolkata, was always comfortable behind the camera. "So far I have worked only behind the camera.I have been involved with the technical side of several projects." She confesses that she is a bit anxious about her debut. Resmi plays the lead protagonist's jail mate. Her character showcases the bold and dark side of society. "My character gives a whole new twist to the story," she says. The only experience she has had in acting before was in street plays during her college days.
Resmi says she was surprised when she was offered the role. However, she doesn't want to take up acting as a profession. "Acting is not my cup of tea. I am doing it only for my friends," she says.
22 Female Kottayamwill start rolling in December. Let's hope the singer will make an impact on the screen as well!
