Actress Sanjjanaa plays a North Indian cop called Mitha Rathod in her upcoming Mollywood film 'The King and the Commissioner'.
The much-delayed film was one of the first ones she signed up for in the Malayalam film industry. “I had signed up for the Mammootty and Suresh Gopi starrer way before my last release 'Casanova' wherein I starred alongside Mohanlal. Due to delays, I happened to make my Mollywood debut with the latter,” says the actress.

More popular for her stint in the Kannada and Telugu film industries, Sanjjanaa says, “My role in 'The King and the Commissioner' did not require me to know the language much. In fact, most of my dialogues in the film are in Hindi,” she says.
With 'Casanova' not doing too well at the box office, Sanjjanaa says she has her hopes pinned on the Mammootty starrer. “There’s not much that can go wrong, as the star cast is great, the director is top class and the production house is good too. But one never knows what works with the audience. As actors, it is our duty to give every film our best. I do hope that my next Mollywood film proves to be a huge hit,” she says.
