D3 Movie Synopsis: Vikram, an inspector from Kutralam, stumbles upon a string of bizarre accidents that all seem to follow a strange pattern. But as he digs deeper, he uncovers a medical crime that sends shockwaves through the place.

D3 Movie Review: Like many investigative thrillers, Prajin's D3 is an investigative thriller that begins with a series of missing persons and murder cases.

Vikram (Prajin), an inspector from Kutralam, encounters a couple of accidents where the victims walk alone onto the road based on certain instructions, only to get hit by a heavy-duty vehicle. He finds it peculiar, and the similarity between the cases takes him closer to certain leads. As the investigation proceeds, Vikram discovers that there are more than 203 similar cases in the same station that have been closed in the name of accidents. Little does he realise that the case would not only put his life in danger, but also that of his wife Maya's (Vidya Pradeep). Despite a personal loss, can Vikram manage to find the culprits behind this series of crimes that have shaken the place?

While the case and the leads in D3 are interesting enough, the plot weakens in the second half, where the real meat should have been. The medical crime that gets exposed isn't effective enough for us to empathise with. Nevertheless, the second half works as it has a couple of twists to keep us engaged. The writer manages to pen a screenplay that doesn't give us any clues on who the culprit is from the very beginning. Manikandan BK's cinematography and Sreejith's background score are two of the biggest strengths of the film. A few frames help us get into the world of the characters. However, the makers could have avoided the song in the pre-interval sequence, which spoils the mood.

Prajin plays the role of a cop for the first time, and he has pulled it off convincingly. His screen presence is good, and he delivers what's expected of him. Rahul Madhav plays Prajin's friend in the film, and his character is something to look out for. Other actors, including Charle, Gayathri Yuvaraj, and Abhisek have delivered their best.

D3 engages us in parts but struggles to give that immersive experience one would expect from an investigative thriller.
