Last 6 hours Movie Review: Don't Breathe franchise was a game changer of sorts in Hollywood when it was released and many filmmakers down South were aspiring to acquire the remake rights of the film. A few minutes into Bharath's latest flick, Last 6 hours, we may wonder if it's the official remake of Don't Breathe and might even try to cross check the same on the internet. But then, later we realise that the major plot of the film is heavily 'inspired' by Don't Breathe with a bit of alterations here and there.

In the very first scene, we are introduced to a group of six people performing a heist in an independent villa, where they eventually end up killing a young girl who tries to foil their burglary act. After a few months, the same team plans another bigger heist to settle for life. While the team enter a bungalow near Kerala border to perform the heist believing that an old locker inside would solve all their financial issues, a lonely blind man (Bharath) who has been living there for sometime plays spoilsport.

Who is this blind man, John and why he is furious at the burglars form the rest of the film's crux. The second half also reveals the link between John and the first burglary act that the team committed a few months ago.

People who haven't watched Don't Breathe might find Last 6 hours interesting, however, for others, it's a passable thriller that tries way too hard to keep the audience on the edge. The intention of the writer to take inspiration from the Hollywood film might be fine, but even the setup and the plot structure turn out to be similar. However, the makers manage to induce a revenge-drama plot into the screenplay and that has helped the film to progress by itself in the second half.

Bharath has performed well as a blind man who is good at martial arts. The stunt sequences were realistic and don't disturb the flow of the film. The twist and the flashback sequences that come in the second half was decent enough to hold the attention of the viewers throughout. Actress Viviya Santh, who has been part of films like Pickles (Malayalam) and Angulika (Telugu), has done a great job. Her performance as one of the burglars was quite impressive, especially, the scene where she reveals her true identity is something to watch out for.

Other actors including Adil Ibrahim, Anu Mohan and Anoop Khalid have given their best for the given role. Overall, Last 6 hours is an okayish thriller if not for its inspirations from Don't Breathe
