'Captain Miller' vs 'Ayalaan' box office collection day 2: Sivakarthikeyan's film holds strong against Dhanush's film

Dhanush's 'Captain Miller' and Sivakarthikeyan's 'Ayalaan' were the Tamil Pongal releases that grabbed major attention, and both films were released on the same day (Jan 12). Despite being released on a working day, both films received better response, while Dhanush's film dominated Sivakarthikeyan's film to take the lead on the opening day. 'Captain Miller' grossed around Rs 13 crore on day 1, while 'Ayalaan' grossed Rs 11 crore.But today on the second day (Saturday), Sivakarthikeyan's film sees a rise, and the science fiction drama is expected to earn on par with the Dhanush starrer. Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan's respective films will be ending day 2 with over Rs 20 crore worldwide for sure.
'Captain Miller' and 'Ayalaan' both have reportedly got over 90% occupancy on day 2 till the afternoon shows, while the evening and night shows are the ones that are going to decide the superior among the both. But the Day 2 collections of both films will be almost equal as the films of two different genres look strong in their respective centers. However, it's a joyous Pongal for Kollywood fans as both Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan's films have turned out to be entertaining ones, and fans have already begun their Pongal celebrations with the new Tamil releases.
