‘Cobra’ box office collection day 2: The film minted less than Rs 6 crore on Thursday

The Vikram starrer on day 2 of its release, saw a huge drop in the box office collection. After its mixed reviews from fans and critics after its release on August 31, the film had a huge drop. Reportedly, the film has collected only Rs 5.50 crore in Tamil Nadu on day 2 of its release; which is nearly 80% less than what it made on the release date.
According to reports, the movie is now seeing a drop because of the weekday and the film’s theatrical run is expected to pick up over the weekend and is speculated to make a collection of more than Rs 15 crore on Saturday and Sunday.
Following its release on August 31, the movie makers have now reduced and trimmed the film to a shorter version by 20 minutes after receiving multiple complaints of the movie being dragged.
The film has now made a gross box office earning of Rs 17 crore in two days and is at the 4^th place of the top grossing Tamil movies of 2022. Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, the film stars Vikram, Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles. The supporting cast includes Meenakshi Govindarajan, Mrinalini Ravi, KS Ravikumar, Roshan Mathew. The music for the movie is composed by AR Rahman.
