'Demonte Colony 2' box office collection: Arulnithi starrer officially earned Rs 55 crore globally

The sequel to the successful horror drama "Demonte Colony" was released in theaters on August 15. Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, 'Demonte Colony 2' sees the filmmaker reunite with actor Arulnithi, along with an intriguing new cast for this horror thriller. Initially opening to a decent reception, the film has quickly turned into a box office sensation, with its daily earnings consistently surpassing those of the previous day. Now, the makers have officially announced the box office collection of 'Demonte Colony 2', and the film grossed over Rs 55 crore to close its second week. A furious poster featuring Arulnithi was unveiled by the makers to confirm the film's box office collection, and the horror drama is now the actor's highest-grossing film.


According to a trade report, Ajay Gnanamuthu's directorial earned around Rs 37 crore in Tamil Nadu. The Telugu version of 'Demonte Colony 2' was released a week after the original and has reportedly grossed around Rs 9 crore from the Telugu states. Meanwhile, 'Demonte Colony 2' has been outperforming other recent releases, including "Thangalaan" and "Raghu Thatha," which hit theaters on the same day this Independence Day, and it shows the audience's interest in the horror genre.

Following a less favorable reception for his last release, director Ajay Gnanamuthu has surprised fans with "Demonte Colony 2," effectively connecting the sequel to the prequel. The film features Priya Bhavani Shankar, Archana Ravichandran, Meenakshi Govindarajan, Sarjano Khalid, and Muthu Kumar in key roles, with a musical score composed by Sam CS.
