'Garudan' box office collection day 1: Rural action drama mints Rs 2.5 crore

The rural action drama directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar starring Soori, Sasikumar, Unni Mukundan was released in theatres yesterday, May 31. The film recevied decent review from fans and on Friday, it has managed to gross Rs 2.5 crore at the box office. The film with its good and positive reviews is expected to gross Rs 5 crore by the first weekend.

The film's story revolves around two friends who are trusted confidantes but their relationship faces struggle with betrayal. The movie portrays how a politician tries to turn an entire village on his favour in order to possess the land that belongs to the temple and the film shows how the politician creates a rift between two friends with a third man.

On the work front, for Soori 'Garudan' is the third film in which Soori plays the lead role following 'Viduthalai Part 1' and 'Kottukaali'. The movie's cast includes Samuthirakani, Dishyant, RV Udayakumar, Vadivukkarasai, Shivada, Mime Gopi, Roshini Haripriyan, Brigada Saga, Revathi Sharma. The music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
