'Leo' box office collection day 2: Vijay's action drama becomes the fastest Tamil film to reach Rs 200 crore

Vijay starrer 'Leo' released in theaters on October 19, and the film secured a record opening despite a working day release. The action drama is set to progress well as the film received positive reviews. Now, the latest update on the film's box office collection is that 'Leo' has grossed over Rs 200 crore worldwide before closing its day 2, and it has become the fastest Tamil film to reach the mark.. After earning an all-time best collection for a Tamil film Rs 148 crore on the opening day, 'Leo' saw a major dip on Friday (Oct 20), and the film grossed around Rs 70 crore on day 2. In Tamil Nadu, 'Leo' has reportedly earned just half of the day 1 collection on day 2, but the film managed to surpass the Rs 50-crore mark in the home state.
Vijay's film with Lokesh Kanagaraj has reported earned close Rs 215 crore in just two days, and it's a luxury start for the film. The overseas collection of the film is just inches away from reaching the Rs 100 crore, while the domestic collection reached the mark in style.


'Leo' has been shattering the box office across the globe. With weekends and Dussehra holidays in India on Monday and Tuesday, 'Leo' is set to climb a higher number in the upcoming days. It won't be a surprise if the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial transforms into Vijay's highest-grossing film before it ends the first week of theatrical run. 'Varisu' remains the highest-grossing film of Vijay with a lifetime collection of around Rs 310 crore, and the mark now looks too easy for 'Leo'.
