A different side of Mahabalipuram

For people in Chennai, Mahabalipuram is a very familiar place. For the rest, it is a must-see tourist spot. Debutant director Don Sandy, who is making the film Mahabalipuram, says that his film will show a different side to the coastal town.
���Mahabalipuram is a place where you will find all kinds of people ��� city folk, villagers and even foreigners. So, I decided to use the place as a backdrop to tell a story of five youngsters.All five have different jobs, but during the vacation season, they double up as tourist guides. The film is about incidents that happen to these young men,��� says the director, and adds that he has taken up events from everyday news reports to script the film, which will be a comedy that turns into a suspense thriller post interval.
Vinayak, who has appeared in supporting roles in Lee and Vettaikaran, plays the lead while the other cast includes Soodhu Kavvum���s Karna and Ramesh, Karthik, Vetri, Angana Roy and Vrittika. ���Don and I have been friends for 10 years and we decided to come together and make this film,��� says Vinayak.
