Actress-scientist Vidya Pradeep is on a signing spree

Vidya Pradeep, who made heads turn with the portrayal of an uptight cop in Magizh Tirumeni’s Arun Vijay-starrer Thadam, seems to be on a signing spree. The first look of her film, directed by Vijay Sri, titled Powder, was released recently. Billed as a thriller, the story of this female-centric film spans two nights. Her character lands in trouble in a certain circumstance.According to her, a slew of unexpected incidents which follows form the rest of the story.
Aval Kangalaik Kondu Ennai Moodinal, which will have PNM Ameer at the helm, is another project of hers, the motion poster of which was released by Vijay Sethupathi recently. Interestingly, she is donning the role of a cop again in a yet-to-be-titled project which is being directed by debutant Amudhavan. An excited Vidya says, “I’m happy to have landed a cop role again. This time, I play an investigating officer who comes across different versions of a crime. How she smartly solves the case after listening to several versions of people is what the story is about. We are currently shooting in the city.”
Naveen Ganesh’s Echo and Sai Karthik’s Infinity are other projects she has in her kitty. The actress, who also has a PhD in Stem Cell Biology, says she has taken a break from science field now owing to her busy commitments. She adds, “I have many projects to focus now. I think this is the right time to concentrate more on movies.”
