His Sagunimight have earned mixed reviews at the box office but still Karthi managed to prove that he is in the league of superstars when it comes to having a massive opening for his films.
The actor is currently teaming up with Anushka (who did a guest role in Saguni) for the Suraj-directed Alex Pandian. As is often the case, the film is produced by Karthi's home production Studio Green, which is managed by his cousin Gnanavel Raja.
The producer has now revealed the release date for the film ��� October 12! That seems like a smart move considering that August and September is lined up with biggies like Suriya's Maattrraan, Kamal Haasan's Viswaroopam, Jiiva's Mugamoodiand Vikram's Thaandavam.
And, given that Vijay's Thuppakiis now expected to release only for Diwali (which falls in November), an October release gives Alex Pandian enough time frame to be on a majority of the screens. This strategy was also followed for Saguni as well, when the film came out as a solo release and had no opposition at the BO for the following week as well.
