Veteran Malayalam actress and Carnatic musician,
Subbalakshmi, who is known in Kollywood for her role in Tamil film 'Ammani', died on November 30 in Kochi. The 87-year-old actor breathed her last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi.
Announcing her demise through her Instagram page, her granddaughter Sowbhagya Venkitesh wrote, "I lost her. 30 years of my strength and love. My Ammamma, My Subbu , My baby.
Thank you for the prayers."
Sharing her condolence,
Lakshmy Ramakrishnan wrote, "We will miss you deeply Amma🙏🙏 you are an inspiration , will live in our hearts forever ❤️"
Subbalakshmi carved a niche for herself with her stellar performances in grandmother roles and is known for her roles in Tamil films like 'Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa' as Jessie's grandmother, 'Ammani' as Ammani, 'House Owner' as Radha's grandmother and in Vijay-starrer 'Beast' as hostage. She showcased her acting prowess in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and many other languages.
