Anukreethy V.A.S’s film is about a dad and daughter

After Savarakathi, Aathityaa is all set to start work on his next. Titled Pitha, the film will be an emotional journey of a father in search of his daughter. “While producer Mathi will play the protagonist, I’ve roped in Anukreethy V.A.S (Femina Miss India World 2018), Kalaiarasan and Ramesh Thilak, among others,” says the director, who will be launching the film with a small pooja today.
While the idea for the story came to him a while ago, Aathityaa says he gave it structure during the lockdown. “I’d just finished the screenplay for a web series, and that’s when I thought of the story. And then, the lockdown happened and it gave me ample time to work on the script,” he says, adding, “I know Mathi well, and he had sent me his latest pictures. He is playing the antagonist in Boxer, too. Since I wanted to cast a relatively new face to play the father, I asked him to do the role. The film is about a father and his daughter, and the journey he takes to find her. He faces losses, and wages wars to find her. ”
While he’s yet to cast for the role of the daughter, Aathityaa adds, “Anukreethy, Kalaiarasan, Ramesh… they are all principal characters and have solid roles to play. ”
