The AR Rahman concert that happened in Chennai on September 10 has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The complaints from netizens have been non-stop, as they were not allowed to enter the venue even with proper tickets for the concert. With multiple complaints of traffic, stampede, and molestation, the concert was a failure, and the event organisers have been receiving backlash for two days now.
Following all the reports and complaints, three police officers who were in charge have been transferred, and two others were suspended until further orders. The action was taken against the police officials as they allegedly did not do their duties properly at the concert venue, which even led to molestation.
A notice was given by the Home Secretary Department that stated the transfer and compulsory wait at office until further orders for five police officials, which include IPS officer Disha Mittal, IPS Deepa Sathyan, and IPS Adarsh Pachera. Though many criticised the concert, film fraternities including Khushbu, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Karthi, and others came out in support of AR Rahman and claimed that it was the fault of the organisers and had nothing to do with the music composer.
Following the incident, AR Rahman took to social media and said that he was sorry for all the mishaps and even agreed to return the money as compensation for people who were not able to enter the venue even though they possessed the actual concert tickets.
