Before teaming up for Love,
Bharath and
Vani Bhojan had begun working together on a dark thriller, directed by debutant Sakthivel. Now titled Miral, the film’s first-look poster, which was released last evening, showed Bharath and Vani’s characters in deep trouble near a highway.
“I wanted to convey the genre of the film — a slasher horror/thriller — through the first-look poster.
The film is set in a windmills farm, and involves a car journey of a family that runs into trouble,” says Sakthivel, adding, “As for the title, I wanted a proper Tamil word. The Tamil words miranduten and mersalaayitten come from the word miral, which means fear. It was apt for the script and so, we went with this title.”
The team has shot the film in Tenkasi, Ambasamuthiram, and Chennai. “Bharath plays a civil engineer and Vani plays his wife. You will see them as Hari and Rama (their character names), a couple trying to save their family. KS Ravikumar plays Vani’s father in the film. All of them have equal importance in the film. The highlight of the film will be the screenplay, which will make this one an edge-of-the-seat film,” he assures.
Kavya of Pandian Stores fame and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom actor Rajkumar are also part of the cast.
