Biggies are back

With Rs 100 crore riding on them, reigning superstars Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and NTR Jr are now angling for the numero uno slot in T-town. Hyderabad Times reports.....
Biggies are back
After a lean patch, seasoned star Balakrishna, bounced back to reclaim his position in the big league with roaring hit Simha which grossed over Rs 42 crore. at the BO.
Apparently, his comeback has revved up the race to top slot. The other three contenders too, are in no mood to give up, and are back in the race to stake their claim to the coveted slot, left vacant by megastar Chiranjeevi.

The months of August-September are going to be crucial for the Telugu film industry as the three superstars���������Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and NTR Jr��������� make their splash on 35 mm in big ticket flicks (total cost of the three films are an estimated Rs 100 crore). Although NTR has displayed star power at the BO earlier this year, by drawing huge openings for his last release Adurs, the film wasn���������t a major success. He is however, still a hot contender for the enviable slot. ���������I don���������t mind being No.1,��������� he announces and elaborates, ���������I don���������t always think on those lines since acting is a passion.��������� NTR���������s new flick Brindavanam, says the macho star has its, ���������its share of commercial elements blended with family values and romance to attract a wider section of the audience.���������
Superstars Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan are also returning to the the big screen after a two-year hiatus to reclaim their positions. Power star Pawan���������s last release Jalsa was a hit, while Prince Mahesh���������s Athidi fizzled after garnering good initials at the BO. But their huge fan following remains intact and ironically, their break seems to have evoked more curiosity and excitement for their upcoming movies. Even the trade pundits are excited.

This time round, the heady combination of Pawan and K-town director S J Suryah are teaming up for a cop story Komaram Pulli. ���������The film got delayed due to unforeseen reasons, but this is a big-ticket commercial entertainer with Pawan. Our earlier film Kushi was a rom-com, while this is a thought-provoking film,��������� he assures.
Most film viewers across the globe love to watch movies of superstars and T-town can���������t be an exception. With hiked ticket rates, audience head to star-studded movies to get their money���������s worth since star films do offer grandeur, pomp and visual treat. Rama Rao, who has big-ticket films lined up with NTR and Ram Charan Tej. Not to swing to extremes, producer Ravi Kishore treading cautiously says, ���������No doubt hype around star films draw big openings, but only a good story can sustain it at the theaters,��������� he informs.
Bring on the popcorn, the biggies are back, and the fans are going to love them for sure!
