Shanthnoo Bhagyaraj���������������������������s first Malayalam film Angel John������������������ is all set to release next Friday.
Shanthnoo, who had a lukewarm debut in Tamil last year with Sakkarakati, is pinning hopes on the Malayalam film where he is paired with superstar Mohanlal. Shanthnoo showed glimpses of talent in his first film and its hit number Taxi, Taxi.A day after Deepavali, the Bhagyaraj family was treated to a sneak peek of Angel John at a Chennai preview theatre and all doubts regarding Shanthnoo���������������������������s ability vanished.
After the preview show, as award winning music director Ouseappachan congratulated him, an emotionally charged Shanthnoo said, ���������������������������I owe everything to Lal ettan (Mohanlal). My biggest challenge was working with him as he is one of the finest actors of Indian cinema. He explained every scene along with Jayasurya and at times, he acted it out for me. He just told me, ���������������������������Mone, dhairiyam aayi act cheyyu, ninaku sadhikkum (Son, be brave, you can do it)������������������������������������������������������.
In the film, he plays the role of Maradonna, a wayward rich kid who seeks the easy way out in life. This attitude lands his family in trouble and in frustration, he decides to commit suicide. As he is about to jump off a light house, an angel (Mohanlal) appears and dissuades him promising him a better life if he changes his attitude and lifestyle. Says Shanthnoo, ���������������������������When writer-director Jayasurya approached me with the script, I was hooked. Later, after dad saw the film, he said that it had turned out better than the original narration, which is a great achievement.���������������������������
Shanthnoo also says that Mohanlal is sort of a lucky mascot for his family.
Remember, he debuted as villain in Fazil���������������������������s super hit Manjil Virinja Pookal, with Poornima playing heroine? Later, his sister played an important role in Mohanlal���������������������������s Photographer. Those who saw Angel John say that there is terrific onscreen chemistry between Mohanlal and Shanthnoo, which makes the film work.
Meanwhile, Shanthnoo is all excited about his second film in Tamil Siddu - Plus Two First Attempt, written and directed by Bhagyaraj.
Says Shanthnoo, ���������������������������A lot of people think that it is a remake of my dad���������������������������s Puthiyavarpugal, as the original title of the film was that. So, we changed the title as Siddu.... as the film is a romantic, youthful commercial entertainer with a Tamil girl Chandini as its heroine. I���������������������������m starting the shoot of Aayiram Vilakku with director Hosimin. Sana Khan is the heroine.��������������������������� Shanthnoo says that with the blessing of all angels and some luck, he will make his dad and mom proud of his achievements in the coming days. ������������������������������������������������������������������������
