Did Dhanush really struggle during his childhood? 'Idli Kadai' actor's statement stirs up debate; here's the story
'Idli Kadai,' featuring Dhanush in the lead role, is slated to release on October 1. Meanwhile, the audio launch of the film held in Chennai on Sep 14 boosted the film's buzz. At the same time, a controversy stirred up as netizens mocked Dhanush's claim about his poor childhood days.Speaking at the audio launch, Dhanush said, "When I was a child, I wanted to eat idlis every day... but I didn't have the money. The joy and taste of eating it back then is something you can't find in big hotels today." Haters jumped in over the statement, as some people started teasing the 'Idli Kadai' actor—"Hisfather is a director; how did he have to suffer?" But the mystery has been revealed through the late filmmaker Visu's throwback video from 2020.

Veteran director Visu once addressed the court case that linked Dhanush

In 2020, filmmaker Visu registered his statement on the controversial case filed by an elderly couple claiming Dhanush as their son. Visu is said to have laughed and been confused after seeing the news in the newspaper. It was reported that a couple from Sivaganga district had filed a case against actor Dhanush and that Dhanush was summoned to the Melur court. This is why Visu was said to have remembered his past experiences.

Visu revealed Kasthuri Raja’s assistant director days

When Visu directed the film 'Manal Kayiru' in 1982, an assistant director named Krishnamoorthy was associated with him. He continued to be an assistant for Visu for 15-16 films. The assistant director is none other than Kasthuri Raja. He stated that Selvaraghavan and Dhanush were the sons of Kasthuri Raja and that he had known them and their sisters since childhood.

Visu highlighted Dhanush's family's modest lifestyle

Visu further stated that Kasthuri Raja's family earlier lived in Kannammapettai. He then recalled that Kasthuri Raja's family did not have a television in their house, and they used to watch television in Visu's brother's house, which was near their house. This old statement of Visu has confirmed Dhanush's family's insufficient early days.
