But Kamal Haasan requested fans and media to not use the 'Ulaganayagan' title for him in a recent interaction as he feels happy to be addressed as Kamal Haasan or KH. But did you know, 'Thenali' was the first film to honor Kamal Haasan with the title “Ulaganayagan.” Released in 2000, this comedy-drama showcased Kamal Haasan's remarkable versatility and global appeal, leading fans to recognize him as a true “Univerasal Hero.” The title perfectly encapsulated his impact across diverse languages and genres, as well as his influence beyond Indian cinema. Even though several movies have addressed Kamal Haasan as 'Ulaganayagan' in their title cards, films produced under the actor's own banner except 'Vikram' have given an introduction for the actor without the prefix. Despite Kamal Haasan's requests, fans continue to call him 'Ulaganayagan' and 'Nammavar' as the titles are close to their hearts and they can't ignore the affectionate names of their favorite actor.
