'Mayan' is one of the upcoming films to look for, and the fantasy thriller is being made in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and English languages. The makers have released the film's trailer recently, and it stirred up expectations for the film. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, director Rajesh Kannan spills the beans about his upcoming directorial ‘Mayan’.
"Our movie ‘Mayan’ revolves around Kaala Bhairavar, the deity. It also has a link with the Mayan calendar and speaks about why the world was didn’t end in 2012, as the prophecy suggested. It was challenging as the film highly relies on graphics. We have made a perfect pre-production plan which helped us a lot while making graphic shots," director
Rajesh Kannan shared.
Speaking about the cast, he said, "
Vinod’s expressive eyes were crucial as he plays Lord
Shiva. He maintained a good physique throughout the film, and he will impress everyone with his role.
Bindu Madhavi is playing a very relatable character in 'Mayan', and the audiences will surely witness that."
Speaking about the English version of the film Rajesh
Kannan added, "It was a great experience as 'Mayan' is filmed simultaneously in Tamil and English, and I motivated our stars. I have dubbed for
Ganja Karuppu sir in the film."
He further added, "It's completely a team effort and every member of the team deserves applause for their extensive support. One of the biggest challenges was that we had to keep an eye on the budget since it is a fantasy film."
'Mayan' will be heading to the big screens in June.
