Ilaiyaraaja to perform in Chennai
The maestro will perform a live-in concert in the city organized by a television channel
The ace composer, who recently organized a press meet to announce the news, was in his elements, and fielded questions in his own unique style and cast a spell over the journalists.
The composer shared an interesting anecdote when the journos placed a request to not start his show late. "I'm a huge bhakt of Mookambika Devi and once, when I had gone to the well-known Mookambika Temple, I was standing in a mile-long queue.
An official from the temple recognized me and decided to take me to the inner sanctum sidestepping the others. When one member who was standing in the queue complained that he had been waiting much before I had arrived, I told him that I have been waiting for many births to catch a sight of the Goddess. He understood my effort at levity and graciously allowed me to have my darshan."
