Jana says he was nervous while entering the set of the S Ezhil directorial.
Assistant director-turned-actor Jana Nathan says he is in no rush when it comes to his career, for he is mindful of the projects he takes up. “Trends and audience preferences keep changing with time. As I keep that in mind, I thought I’d take it slow,” says the actor who was last seen in Desingu Raja 2, his only release this year.Jana says he was nervous while entering the set of the S Ezhil directorial. “It was because the film had many senior artistes. But the team, including Vemal sir, treated me well. I wanted to do well because I was cast for an important role (he played the second lead).”Jana, who has acted in films such as Kathakali , Bruce Lee , Semma , and Pechi , wants to take up diverse roles. “I don’t think I should only play the hero. I’m ready to play the second lead and even the villain. Take Vijay Sethupathi sir, for example. He plays both the hero and the villain and my mindset is similar,” he shares. Before signing off, the young actor brings up an interesting conversation he had with his father before becoming a full-time actor. “When I expressed my interest in acting, my dad asked me, ‘Do you want to act out of desire or passion?’ It was a valid question and at the time, I didn’t understand what he meant. I gradually realised the difference between both and also understood that acting is my calling as well as passion,” he concludes.
