It is unbelievable and amazing at the same time: ‘Expectant father’ Nakkhul

This Monday was special for Nakkhul for two reasons. Apart from marking his birthday, yesterday was also the day the actor chose to announce the pregnancy of his wife Sruti. “This is like a silver lining to the grey cloud,” Nakkhul says with a laugh.
The prospect of fatherhood still feels surreal, he adds. “Just this morning, I was driving and I relived the news all over again with Sruti.It is unbelievable and amazing at the same time,” says the actor, who tied the knot with Sruti in 2016. The duo has been using this time to prepare and become hands-on parents in the days to come. Online sessions on birthing, lactation counselling and parent psychology have been keeping the couple busy during the lockdown.
“Initially, we were a bit blank. Because, as it is with everything, there is always a fear of the unknown. But I have to give it to Sruti for being so calm and doing all the research about pregnancy. Now, we are ready to have one more team player,” Nakkhul adds.
The couple also chooses to look at the current situation as a blessing instead of a setback.
“Many might be worried about a baby’s safety at a time like this. But we are taking it one day at a time and believe that the world will become a better place. The coronavirus is going to make us more cautious about health and hygiene in India,” Sruti says.
