K-Town stars bat for SL Tamils
Following the fast organized by the Directors Union on March 19, the Tamil film industry struck work once again yesterday to express their solidarity for the Tamil cause in war-torn Sri Lanka. The fast, organized by the Nadigar Sangam, had most of the top actors from KTown participating in it to express their support for the Sri Lankan Tamils.
Actors Ajith, Suriya, Karthi, Sivakumar, Sathyaraj, Prakash Raj and Nadigar Sangam president Sarath Kumar were among the earliest to arrive at the Nadigar Sangam premises, the venue of the fast.

Ajith was seen with a cast wrapped around his injured right leg. Meanwhile, actor Vijay, who is currently in Australia shooting for Thalaivaa, sent a letter expressing his support for the Tamil cause and regretted his inability to be present at the event.
Superstar Rajinikanth arrived at 11.30 am and was greeted with cheers. The young brigade of actors, including Dhanush, Arya, Jiiva, Vishal, Shiva and Udhayanidhi, were also seen in full force. An interesting aspect of this fast was that there were no speeches by the actors, making it a silent protest of sorts. The buzz at the venue was that this was done to avoid any unnecessary controversy.
However, some actors like Sarath Kumar and Prakash Raj were seen providing bytes to the TV media. What was jarring was the
absence of most of the leading actresses, who seemed to have given the event a miss. At the time of going to press, we could only find Dhanshikaa and Monika among the younger heroines along with veterans Radhikaa, Rekha, Nalini and Oorvasi.
