Karthi’s film with Muthaiah to go on floors in May?
There has been a strong buzz in the industry that Karthi and Muthaiah may team up again for a film. The actor-director had last worked together in the rural entertainer Komban, which was received well by both the audience and the critics. While there has been no official confirmation from either of them, a source tells us that the two are indeed joining hands for another film, which will go on floors in summer.
The source says, “Karthi and Muthaiah have been in touch and would often discuss possibilities of them working together again.

The director had narrated a story to the actor a long time ago and has even locked the script. The film will be produced by Suriya’s banner. Muthaiah is known for narrating engaging stories set against the backdrop of villages, and the team has decided to play on his strengths again. So, this one will be a rural mass entertainer as well.”
Karthi is presently awaiting the release of one of his films, and will then finish work on Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus, Ponniyin Selvan. “He will then commence work on the Muthaiah film, mostly from either May or June. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised,” the source adds. Muthiah, meanwhile, last directed Pulikkuthi Pandi, starring Vikram Prabhu and Lakshmi Menon in the lead.
