Kollywood is lucky for me: Karmanya
Actor Karmanya has been literally living out of a suitcase. This villain of Asal has been hopping from one country to another, either shooting for the Ajith-starrer or discussing his first international project.
The last few months have been hectic. Ive been shuttling between Malaysia, Chennai and Mumbai, discussing scripts, says the actor.

Karmanya is playing one of the many villains in Asal, directed by Saran.
I started my career in Bollywood with Ram Gopal Varmas Company. After it, offers started pouring, but there was nothing of substance. I didnt want to waste my time in Bollywood and shifted my focus to other languages. Director Puri Jagannadh then cast me in Super with Nagarjuna. I did a few other films in Telugu like Don and Rainbow. I followed it up with Abhay in Kannada and Alibhai with Mohanlal in Malayalam. Meanwhile, I came to Chennai and asked Prabhu sir if he could give me a role in Chandramukhi. However, they were wrapping up the shooting of Chandramukhi and Prabhu promised me a role in his next. After Alibhai released, he loved my performance and gave me a role in Asal. This film will be a good start for me in Kollywood, says Karmanya.
Prod him a little about this movie and all hell say is, I play a cool villain not the typical villain with bloodshot eyes. Im usually clean-shaven, but Saran insisted I sport a French beard for this film.
The actor cant stop raving about the cast and crew. Ajith is the most beautiful person I have ever met. He doesnt generally talk much on the sets. As soon as he finishes his scene, he gets busy with either a book or his laptop. But you can still learn a lot from him, says Karmanya.
Hes no less charmed by director Saran. Saran is a very relaxed guy. Hes so chilled out that you will forget you are acting in a film and that you have huge dialogues to deliver. Every actor should get a chance to work with Saran, he says.
Karmanya is equally excited about his international project. I guess Kollywood has alread y proved lucky for me. Just after I started work on Asal, I got an offer to do an Indo-South African venture, titled Perfect Frame Of Mind. I will start shooting on December 18. Its an author-backed role and I will share screen space with Kabir Bedi. I have to sport a six-pack for this film! Its a fast-paced thriller and will release all over the world in English and Hindi, he signs off.
