Mammootty’s epic tweet wishing Rajinikanth a speedy recovery wins hearts on social media

Superstar Rajinikanth was admitted at a private hospital in Hyderabad recently owing to fluctuations in blood pressure. The hospital had issued a release couple of times informing that the star is fine and that a decision on discharging him will be taken at the earliest. Several fans of Rajini from across the world have been wishing him a speedy recovery on different social media platforms.Celebrities from Kollywood, including Kamal Haasan, Pawan Kalyan from Tollywood and others wished a speedy recovery to the Superstar. However, the tweet posted by Mollywood Megastar Mammootty stood apart from the rest.
His tweet brought back memories of three decades old Mani Ratnam film Thalapathi, in which Rajini and Mammootty enacted Soorya and Deva respectively. The tale of friendship between Soorya and Deva is still a benchmark in Kollywood. His tweet read, “Get well soon Soorya. Anpudan Deva.”

The tweet went viral in no time and celebs and fans of both the stars have been celebrating it. Some of the fans and movie buffs said the tweet was quite an emotional one and that the post was much required at a time like this. A few went on to say that the message from Deva has brought cheer among fans of Soorya. Some of the excited fans tweeted a few stills from the film in which both the stars were seen together.
